How it started
Nic, a Ukrainian software engineer since 15, turned to indie hacking after the war began; several AI apps failed before he started an AI cocktail blog and found Pinterest drove the most traffic. Rather than hire someone to make pins, he automated it, building the first version in about two months on nights and weekends with GitHub Copilot. The launch made $0, but word of mouth, affiliates, SEO and LLM recommendations grew it to $16K MRR over two years.
