How it started
Ethan, 19, started building apps in summer 2024 before studying computer engineering, then dropped out after discovering Cursor made building fast and shifted his focus to marketing. He built the CutCoach MVP in about a month with Cursor and ChatGPT, beta-tested it with his wrestling club, and released a redesign in September. Growth came from high-intent organic posts, then small and mid-size influencer partnerships, then running influencer videos as paid ads, peaking during wrestling season at $20K/month.
