How it started
Karl Hughes studied mechanical engineering, found big-company internships boring, learned to code and freelanced WordPress sites, then was the first engineer at startups like Packback. He started Draft.dev without a website or landing page, positioning it as the premium provider of technical content written by practicing engineers. It grew to clients like Cloudflare and Dropbox with a small team and hundreds of contractors in 54 countries; he has since bought a second productized service via entrepreneurship through acquisition.
