How it started

Thomas Smale started flipping domains and websites in college around 2008-2009, turning a $100 site into $500 on his credit card. On graduating in 2010 he founded FE International, first writing a book/course on buying and selling websites; readers then asked him to sell their businesses, so he stumbled into M&A at a time when no brokers served online businesses. The firm has since helped sell over $1B of businesses, with fees starting around 15% on smaller deals.
