How it started
Ian Myers left a PhD track for finance/VC fund investing, then raised money for an app company but disliked the VC treadmill. In late 2021 he started Oceans with no big expectations, signing the first contract in February 2022 and doing $650K in year one. Oceans hires mostly in Sri Lanka and charges ~$3-4K/month per full-time placement; growth came from a zero-cost marketing method he still uses.
