How it started
Connor Burd, 23 with no CS background, taught himself iOS from YouTube and Stack Overflow; his first social app took 6-8 months and failed, so he switched to utility apps that now total over $1M in revenue. He vibe coded Payout in 14 days for RevenueCat's Shipaton hackathon (55K+ entrants), designing from screenshots of ~20 apps in Figma and an extensive onboarding. Influencer/UGC campaigns and then Facebook ads grew it to $20K/month in 50 days, winning the Build & Grow award.
