Prayer Lock

How it started

Mau majored in finance, fell in love with AI after seeing OpenAI's Codex in 2022 and taught himself to code. After abandoning an adult AI app and three months of apps nobody wanted, he found the competitor PrayScreen and set out to execute better, coding Prayer Lock in three days with Cursor and ChatGPT. Organic UGC reaction videos (recorded with his girlfriend, now wife) posted ~40 times a day got first users, then paid ads with UGC creatives scaled it to $20K+/month in six months.
